Edna Gilroy Taylor

Edna Gilroy Taylor, age 92, of So. Berwick, Maine, formerly of Stoneham and Wakefield, MA died peacefully at home following a brief illness on January 6, 2015. She was the wife of the late Everett L. Hale and the late Howard A. Taylor.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia; she was the daughter of the late Fenwick and Lida (Weston) Gilroy.
As a young child, Edna and her family relocated to Somerville, MA. She was a graduate of Somerville High School.
In the early 1950’s, Edna moved to Stoneham with her husband Everett and their young family. For many years she was employed as a switchboard operator at Sanborn Motor Express in Stoneham.
Edna will be remembered as a very thoughtful and giving friend. She was deeply religious and a faithful member of her church.
She was the mother of Charles T. Hale and his wife Terry of South Berwick, ME and the late Warren E. Hale of Kittery, ME; the sister of Isabelle Dole of S. Carolina and the late Lloyd Gilroy and the loving grandmother of Bridget and Brianna Hale of So. Berwick.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, Jan. 8th , 5-8 P.M. at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, MA, followed the next day by a funeral service on Friday, Jan 9th at 11 A.M. at the Faith Baptist Church, 23 Litchfield Rd., Kittery, ME. Memorial tributes may be made to the Faith Baptist Church.
