Paul J. Catrone of Stoneham passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2015, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his devoted wife, Janet (Smyth) Catrone, his family and friends. Born in Norwood, MA; he was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Edith (Roscia) Catrone.
Paul was a graduate of Roslindale High School and attended Wentworth Institute. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Paul worked for the City of Boston making needed repairs to the city’s bridges and street lights.
Paul enjoyed making improvements to his home. He could fix anything and generously gave his time to help his many friends and neighbors.
Paul loved nature and spent many happy hours fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed time spent with Janet, his loving wife of 42 years. Paul and Janet loved to travel and have many fond memories of their trips, including stays at the beautiful inns of New England.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his cherished sister Grace Meleo and her husband John of Westwood who Paul loved as a brother. Uncle Paul was a special presence in the lives of his many nieces and nephews and their families. Time spent together was always fun-filled and memorable. Uncle Paul will always hold a special place in their hearts. He will also truly be missed by his many friends. Anyone who spent time with him always walked away smiling.
