Richard F. Kearney, "Boss Wrench", formerly of Stoneham, passed away in his home in Sunrise, Florida, surrounded by his family on January 28, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Born February 10, 1942, he was the son of the late James F. and Vesta E. Kearney.
Dickie was the founder, along with James and Wayne, of Kearney Brothers' Sunoco on Main St., Stoneham in 1969.
He was the builder of the Dodge Material Wheel Stander that later became a Johnny Lightening toy collectable. Dickie was known as "Boss Wrench" to many in the racing field. He loved sports and coached youth sports for many yeras. He was a big fan of the New England sports teams.
Dedicated to his family, he was the father of Richard Kearney of California, Scott Kearney, Audra Caffery and Sean Kearney all of Florida. He was the brother of James Kearney and Wayne Kearney of Stoneham, Eileen Harriss of Danvers and Paul Kearney of Stoneham and Florida. He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren with whom he loved to spend time and watch movies and sports together. He is also survived by five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
