Henry P. Beerman, age 88, of Lexington, died February 12, 2015, following a gradual decline in his health at Woodbriar of Wilmington. He was the husband of the late Hedwig M. (Schiffmann) Beerman.
Born in Berlin, Germany, he was the son of the late John and Kitty (Langbank) Beerman. At thirteen he came to the States and in 1940, he became a US citizen. He served in the US Army during WWII.
Mr. Beerman earned a B.S. in Physics from Alfred University and a Masters in ceramic engineering at the University of Colorado and Drexel University. He was employed as a physicist and engineer at Barnes Engineering and the Analogic Corporation.
Mr. and Mrs. Beerman were residents Lexington for over thirty-five years, before moving to their retirement home in Burlington. Mr. Beerman enjoyed his extensive stamp collection and he appreciated listening to classical music and opera.
He was the father of Charles Beerman of San Jose, CA and Lilly Beerman of Munich, Germany. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lisa and Rebecca and a sister Elisabeth Laufer of Arizona.
