Leighton F. Black, “Lee”, age 91, of Woburn, died July 29, 2015, at the Winchester Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the cherished husband of Nancy (Beattie) Black. Born in Melrose, MA and raised in Canada; he was the son of the late Ira L. and Flora (Thorn) Black.
Following graduation from high school, Lee joined the Canadian Navy and was a veteran of WWII.
He returned to the United States and had resided in Woburn for the past 65 years. He was employed as a truck driver for Sunnyhurst Farms.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by three sons, Lee Black and his wife Carolyn, Fred Black and James Black and his wife Maria all of Woburn. He also leaves his grandchildren, Chris Black of Chicago, IL, Lauren Zuccaro and her husband Matt of Lynnfield and Allison Black of Boston; two sisters and a brother all of Canada.
