Frances A. Williams, age 92, of Stoneham and Reading, died August 15, 2015, at Aurora Senior Living in Salem, NH. She was the wife of the late Gordon F. Williams. Born in Melrose, MA and raised in Stoneham, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Cora (Orne) Dyson.
Frances was a graduate of Stoneham High School in the class of 1941. She and her husband resided in Melrose until 1972, when they moved to Reading.
She was part of the Liberty Bell Chapter of the Sweet Adelines, a competitive group of singers who often performed throughout New England. Frances was also active in the Order of the Eastern Star, the Crescent Chapter in Arlington and the Old South Methodist Church in Reading.
She was the mother of Cynthia Regan and her husband William of Tewksbury and Elaine Parsons of Chester, NH.; the grandmother of Christine Murley of Chester, NH, Scott Murley of Hampton, NH, Deborah Canadas of Chelmsford, Bonnie Regan of Salem and the late Sherri Blamire. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Mikayla and Triston and great, great grandchildren Madison and Myla. She was the sister of the late Charles and Albert Dyson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 A.M. in the Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
