Stoneham Independent obituary

Cheryl L. Savage, age 51, of Melrose, formerly of Stoneham, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on October 24, 2015. Born in Malden, MA and raised in Stoneham, she was the cherished daughter of Albert and Lorraine Savage.
Cheryl was a graduate of Bunker Hill Community College. She worked as a nurses’ aide at several nursing homes in the area.
Cheryl loved vacationing at her family cottage in Alton, NH and visiting with family in Vermont. She loved to cook and crochet, donating her creations to the Congregational Church fair. Cheryl served as the last worthy advisor of the Stoneham Order of Rainbow Girls.
In addition to her parents, she leaves her sisters, Debora Baker of Wakefield and Kimberly Savage of Stoneham; her brothers, Mark Savage of Stoneham and Stephen Savage of Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by aunts, Mary Duggan, Bette Biggio, Carol Mitchell and Betty Mitchell; uncles, Eugene Mitchell and Ralph Mitchell; nieces, nephews and two grandnieces.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday in the First Congregational Church, followed by burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial gift to the First Congregational Church “Book of Remembrance”, 1 Church St., Stoneham, MA 02180.
