James M. Boyd

December 7, 1931 — February 15, 2016

James M. Boyd, age 84, of Stoneham, passed away February 15, 2016, while visiting his daughter in California. He was the beloved husband of Esther (Wolf) Boyd.
Born and raised in Woburn, MA, he was the son of the late George M. and Letitia (Blain) Boyd. After spending two years in the Army as a dental assistant, Mr. Boyd was employed for over thirty-five years as a pipefitter in the maintenance department of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston.
Mr. Boyd resided in Stoneham and was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was known among his friends and family for his helping hand and his friendly, supportive manner. He loved to garden and he enjoyed being outdoors with fond memories of camping and canoeing.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Susan Boyd of Loma Linda, CA and his son Daniel Boyd of Weston. He was the grandfather of Richie, Brisa and Charlotte and brother of Alex Boyd, Blaine Boyd, Elizabeth Coe and John Boyd. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, 1-3P.M. at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, followed by a funeral service at 4 P.M. in the Stoneham Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church, 29 Maple St. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Dana Farber Cancer Research or New England Center and Home for Veterans.
