Ruth Elaine Morash

September 11, 1923 — June 3, 2016

Ruth Elaine Morash, age 92, of Stoneham, died suddenly Friday, June 3, 2016, of heart related illness. Born and raised in Medford, MA; she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Anna (Johanson) Bollivar.
Ruth was very active in the community where she volunteered at the Stoneham Senior Center as secretary, sang with the senior choir “The Silver Notes”, and performed in the Senior Center’s “Geri-Jingle Tambourine Band”. Ruth was a volunteer at the Winchester Hospital for many years. She was a member of local bowling leagues, the Hammond Organ Society and she taught Sunday School. She established Stoneham’s Red Hat Society Chapter and served as Queen Bee. Ruth worked as a payroll clerk and she was a talented artist who created her own special greeting cards that she sold and shared with her friends and family.
She was the mother of Linda Kirk of Andover, Barbara Morash of Stoneham, Anita & her husband Barry Durette and Lee & his wife Arlene Morash of Wilmington. She was the former wife of the late Leslie B. Morash She leaves her grandchildren Nichole Clements, Michael Connerty, Brian Kirk, Hilary Kulunis, John Kulunis, Laura Leach and Ashley Pilsmaker; great grandchildren AJ, Brian Jr. & Karinda Kirk, David & Layla Kulunis, Bree Lakeman, Colton Leach, Mason & Thea Pilsmaker and soon to be born "baby" Clements and her great, great grandchild Logan. She was the sister of Douglas Bollivar of Salem, NH and aunt of Debbie Veator and the late Douglas Bollivar, Jr.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday, 6:30-8:30, at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 P.M. in the First Baptist Church Melrose, 561 Main St., Melrose 02176.
