Lorraine F. Burr

Lorraine F. Burr, age 83, of Stoneham, passed away at home with family by her side, on October 2, 2016. She was the cherished wife of the late John E. Burr. Born in Revere, MA and raised in Saugus during her early childhood; she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Joanna (Lupo) Aucella.
During her junior year in high school, Lorraine’s family moved to Stoneham and it was at Stoneham High School that Lorraine met John who became her sweetheart. They graduated in 1951; were married in 1952 and shared a life together in Stoneham until October 2, 2014, when John died.
Lorraine provided a warm and happy home for her large family; she was fun loving and a genuinely caring wife and mother. In addition to cooking and cleaning; she found time to enjoy many crafts, sewing and knitting. She looked forward to her trips to Florida to be with family and visits from her adored grandchildren.
She was the mother of John Burr Jr. of Florida, Debbie Young of New Jersey, Joanne Burr of Florida, Leanora Burr of Hull, Thomas Burr and Anthony Burr of Stoneham and Eileen Cardillo of Rowley. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A private prayer service will be held at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home of Stoneham, followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
