John A. Anderson Jr., passed away after a lengthy decline on October 24, 2016. He was the cherished husband of Kirsten (Rosenius) Anderson from Denmark, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born and raised in Medford, he was the loyal son of the late John A. and Elinor (Erickson) Anderson.
John was a graduate of Medford High School. He worked with his father for 25 years as an auto body technician, before taking on the position of Department Head of Auto Body Repairs at North East Regional High School.
John was known for his sense of humor and gracious hospitality. He and Kirsten hosted family and visitors from many parts of the world. They enjoyed travelling throughout Europe and Scandinavia, as well. During John’s illness, he was content to listen to music and enjoy the companionship of his wife.
In addition to Kirsten, he is survived by his aunt Edith Fountain of Lexington and many friends.
Calling hours will be Friday, 10A.M.-noon with a funeral service at 11:30 A.M. at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 or Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
