Miriam Rose Moore, age 90, a long time resident of Stoneham, passed away November 2, 2016. She was the wife of 50 years to the late Terrence Olney Moore. Born in Providence, RI; she was the daughter of the late Alton Jeremiah and Catherine (Kiefer) Verrill.
Miriam spent her early childhood in Andover, Maine and as a young girl moved with her family to Woodstock, Maine. She was a graduate of Woodstock High School, and was pleased to return to celebrate her 70th high school reunion there. Miriam attended Atlantic Union College and graduated from Boston State College. She earned her Masters at UMass Boston.
For many years, she was employed at the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham as the Director of Volunteer Services.
Miriam had been a resident of Stoneham since 1957. She was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She organized education and entertainment programs for the 60+ Club at the Stoneham Senior Center and she was a proud member of the Red Hat Society.
She was the mother of Ted Moore and his wife Nancy Ellen of Boxford and Bruce Moore and his wife Eliane of Medford. She also leaves her granddaughter Jodi Ann Smith and her husband Dennis and her great grandchildren, Logan and Keira Rose Smith.
Services were held Friday, November 4th at the Stoneham Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church, 29 Maple St., Stoneham, MA 02180 and interment on Saturday at Lakeside Cemetery, Woodstock, ME. Those desiring may make a memorial gift to the Stoneham Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund.
