Richard Townsend Salter Ii

(Flag)Richard Townsend Salter II, ‘Dick”, age 85, of Bedford, died November 15, 2016. Born in Philadelphia PA, he resided in Bedford for 48 years. He was the husband of Pauline L. (Harris) Salter and the father of Richard T. Salter III of Maynard and Paula Judge and her husband Tom of Bedford. Beloved “Granddad” to Kevin, Kerry and Matthew Judge of Bedford and brother of the late Philip Salter.
Dick was a member of the 1953 graduating class at M.I.T. and received his Doctorate from M.I.T. in 1960. He was employed for many years as an Engineer in the Aerospace industry and worked for AVCO (Textron) most of his career. He served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant. Dick was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed traveling, reading, classical music and trains.
