Joan B. Watson of West Bridgewater, MA, passed away peacefully March 13, 2017, at the age of 66, surrounded by the people she loved. She leaves her beloved soulmate Richmond Castano, who was her devoted and loving partner for many years, and was there for her through the best of times and the most difficult days.
"God saw her getting tired, and a cure was not to be. He wrapped her in his loving arms and whispered, Come with Me."
Daughter of the late Robert and Barbara (Beecher) Watson, she was born in Newton, MA in 1950. She attended grammar school and high schools in Newton and Needham; attended college at the University of Maryland and was a graduate of Lesley College in Cambridge.
The middle child of seven siblings, she leaves her brothers Robert of Riviera Beach, Fl, Paul, David and Jack all of MA; sisters Carol Pirro & her husband Thomas of Palm Beach Shores, FL and Janet Watson & her husband Darle Strohl of Singer Island, FL., several nieces and nephews and her sisters-in-law, Marie Castano of Morocco and Jo-Ann Castano & her husband Andrew Innes of Gloucester. She joins a family friend, the late Dick Flaherty of East Bridgewater.
In addition to her spiritual endeavors, Joan was a Reiki Master and Yoga Instructor and enjoyed writing and reading poetry. Joan had a green thumb and loved her plants and she enjoyed cooking up her specialties, "Gourmet Goulash" and "Pudding in a Cloud". She had a quick mind, and did everything with an artistic flair.
A special thank you to the Old Colony Elder Services for their compassion in caring for Joan.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Joan's name be made to any local animal shelter.
