Louise B. Fortino of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, passed away in her 100th year on March 17, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late John Fortino with whom she had shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Cambridge and raised in Charlestown; she was the daughter of the late Harry and Suzanna (Hancock) Bradbury.
Louise was a Charlestown High School graduate in the class of 1936. For several years she was employed as an administrative assistant at Phipps Product Corporation in Boston.
Louise and her husband lived in many locations throughout the country while John was serving in the armed forces. They settled in Stoneham in 1976. Louise was formerly a very active member of Grace Episcopal Church. Some of her crafts were knitting and quilting; a favorite pastime was completing the Sudoku puzzle in the daily Globe, and she loved to square dance. Throughout her long life she was devoted and very giving to her family.
She was the cherished mother of John “Jack” H. Fortino & his wife Lorraine of Woburn and Jerry M. Fortino & his wife Peggy of Medford. She was also survived by three grandchildren, Lisa Cyr & her husband Kevin of Wilmington, Nicole Fortino of Stoneham and Michael Fortino & his wife Kate of Norwood and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ernest, Charles and Ewart Bradbury.
Funeral from Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, Thursday at 9 A.M., followed by a church service at Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High St, Medford, MA 02155 at 10 A.M.
