Vera Jean Bicknell

Vera Jean Bicknell, age 87, a long time resident of Stoneham, passed away March 17, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late David C. Bicknell. Born in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Viola (Crowell) Vogler.
Jean was a graduate of Stoneham High School. Early in her career, she worked as an insurance underwriter. For many years, she served as a director for the daycare center at the First Baptist Church of Stoneham.
Jean was a dedicated member and volunteer of the First Baptist Church. She and her husband Dave had happily shared 64 years of marriage prior to his death last year. Throughout their marriage, they most often were proud owners of a collie.
Jean is survived by her sisters-in-law, Ruby Vogler of Silver Springs, MD and Joanna Howes of Myrtle Beach, SC and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Kenneth Lee Vogler.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 457 Main St., Stoneham, on Thursday at noon followed by burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Visitation at the church, prior to the funeral, beginning at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the First Baptist Church of Stoneham.
