Margaret Marie Duff

Margaret M.Duff of Stoneham, formerly of Beachmont, succumbed to her battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, surrounded by her family. Beloved daughter of the late Albert Joseph Sr. and Mary (Barrett) Duff formerly of Stoneham. Dear sister of the late Catherine Marie Duff formerly of Methuen, the late Mary Coutu and her husband Roger formerly of Stoneham, the late Albert J. Duff Jr. formerly of Stoneham and his wife Sally of Stoneham, the late James Duff and his wife Ruth formerly of Yarmouth, Janet Bears and her husband Paul of Stoneham, Thomas Duff and his wife Arlene of North Kingston, RI. Also survived by many nieces nephews and cousins and her cherished dogs, Riley and Juliette.
Margaret was an accomplished musician; she played Bass Cello at Boston Symphony Hall as a young adult. She graduated from Bon Secours Hospital School of Nursing with her LPN and worked many years in the nursing field. Upon leaving the nursing field, she was employed by Bunker Hill Community College where she retired after 30 years. She was a proud member of the Beachmont Yacht Club and an avid fan of the Boston sports teams, especially the New England Patriots. The things that brought her the most joy were spending time with her family and pets, whether at home, the Cape or in her garden.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Patrick Church, Stoneham, on Wednesday, May 31 at 10 AM, followed by interment at Lindenwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice in Margaret’s name.
