Rodger E. Landers, age 81, passed away on Thursday August 10, 2017 at the Winchester Hospital. He was the son of Chester B. Landers and Bessie May (Patterson) Landers. He was born in Malden and grew up and lived in Malden until he moved to Stoneham in 1973. He graduated from Malden Vocational High School in 1954 and was a member of IBEW Local 103 for 50 years. Rodger was a member of the Converse Masonic Lodge in Malden for 60 years, and a member of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Boston. He served in the United States Army in Korea. Rodger was a dedicated husband and father, who loved doing things with his family. He was an avid gardener and lover of outdoor activities. He loved to say things to make people laugh and smile. He was also a handyman and was able to fix many things. He will be greatly missed.
Rodger was the beloved husband of the late Caroline H. Landers, and the dear father of Suzanne Landers, and Rodger S. Landers. He is survived by his sister Marjorie Doty and his brother Robert Landers and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He is predeceased by his sister Eleanor Carter and brother Chester Landers.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday September 3, 2017 at 3 pm at the First Baptist Church of Malden. Friends and Family are welcome to attend. Please consider making memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Malden where he was a member.
