Jason B. Gullette

d. August 18, 2017

Jason B. Gullette was born in Worcester, MA on June 24, 1958. As an infant, he was adopted by father William F. Gullette, Jr. and mother Eleanor M. Gullette and grew up in Stoneham, MA. He attended Stoneham High School and graduated in 1976. His favorite childhood memories were those of his time spent with friends at the Unicorn Golf Course in Stoneham, MA and summers at the Gullette family home in Duxbury,MA. In 2013 Jason took his elderly parents back to Duxbury to visit after many years, and the trip was a wonderful way for all to reminisce about family life in Massachusetts.

Jason then went on to attend University of Massachusetts at Lowell and then University of Phoenix to earn his Bachelor’s degree. In school he excelled in the sciences and would later use these talents as a sales manager for chemical and industrial product companies. A high point of his career was his stint as western regional sales manager for North American Green Soil Erosion Control, a company based in Evansville, Indiana. Jason followed career opportunities to the Chicago area, then to San Diego, and finally to Denver in October of 1997. It was there, in January of 1998 that he met Marcia. He was rollerblading to a park in Denver; she was raking leaves in the yard. They exchanged phone numbers on the spot and their relationship started immediately thereafter. The two met in front of the house where they would reside for many years to come.

Jason and Marcia married on October 11, 2003 in Grantfork, Illinois. They enjoyed many fun times in Highland, Illinois especially at the Highland Country Club. They lived together in Denver, Colorado and also had a home in the nearby Copper Mountain Ski area, where Jason would enjoy many happy times with family and friends.

Jason and Marcia travelled much for their respective careers and enjoyed meeting for weekends in cities around the US. Jason also loved many outdoor activities including snow skiing, biking, camping, rollerblading, golfing and playing volleyball. Always an avid sports fan, he was often seen wearing a Boston Red Sox or Denver University Hockey cap in support of these favorite teams.

As Jason succumbed to illness, his career was sadly cut short. Ever one to be involved in his community and causes close to his heart, Jason went on to volunteer with the Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue, helping to raise funds and donating his time to perform handyman repairs at the shelter. He also volunteered at Restores for Habitat for Humanity. He frequently helped neighbors with yard and home maintenance.

Jason B. Gullette passed from this life on August 18, 2017, after a prolonged battle with renal disease complicated by bladder cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Marcia (nee Tuffli); sister Renee (Tim) Flynn; in-laws William and Sue Tuffli; uncle Stephen Kolesnik; aunt Lorraine Tuffli; brother-in-laws Michael (Dawn)Tuffli and Matthew Tuffli; nieces Kassidy Tuffli and Molly Flynn; nephews Christopher and Jacob Flynn and many long-time friends across the US.

Jason is preceded in death by his father William F. Gullette, Jr., who died on September 29, 2016, and his mother Eleanor M. Gullette, who died on November 1, 2016. A private funeral service was held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in Denver, CO arranged by Apollo Funeral Service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations in memoriam may be made to Doctors Without Borders, where Jason was a sustaining donor for over 15 years; any donation would be greatly appreciated. https://donate.doctorswithoutborders.org/onetime.cfm
