Adelaide Ferreira

Adelaide Ferreira, a resident of Stoneham for over seventy years passed away April 3, 2022, following a lengthy struggle with dementia.  She was the wife of the late Americo Ferreira.  Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Julio and Maria (Souza) Medeiros.

Not long after graduating from Somerville High School, like most women in that era, Adelaide got married.  She and her beloved husband shared over seventy years of marriage, residing in one of the octagon homes in Stoneham fondly nicknamed "The Cake House".  But, Adelaide was a woman ahead of her time, she desired a career outside her home.  She became a highly successful property manager.  For years, she worked with Berman & Sons Realty, in charge of three large rental complexes in Stoneham.

Adelaide and Americo enjoyed travelling.  Their journeys took them throughout the United States and nearly all the continents by air, ship, train and by car.  Adelaide was very fond of her three dogs that she cared for over many years, "Coco", "Paco" and "Sheba"..

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Anne Ferreira, of Stoneham.

Funeral from Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, Friday, April 8th at 8:00 A.M., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9:00 A.M.  Interment at Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
