Alice M Blackwell

Alice M. Blackwell, age 97, a long time resident of Stoneham, died January 26, 2022, following a lengthy decline. Born in Boston, MA; she was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathleen (Smith) Eccles. Alice spent her early childhood in Somerville and graduated in the class of 1942 from Stoneham High School.

For many years, Alice was employed at the Stoneham Cooperative Bank. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Stoneham, and in her retirement, she was active at the Stoneham Senior Center. She was a fine seamstress, enjoyed knitting, and had a great fondness for her cats.

She was the mother of Howard Blackwell and his wife Pamela, Barbara Jane Chizmas and Catherine Ann Blackwell; the grandmother of four, Lauren Leary, Heather McCarthy, Tracy Chizmas and Sarah Coscia, and great grandmother of eight, Evan, Emma and Erik Leary, Ryan, Brady, and Quinn McCarthy, Matthew and Zachery Coscia.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service to be held at the First Baptist Church, 457 Main Street, Stoneham, MA on Monday, February 7th at 11:30am, followed-by burial at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. Arrangements under the direction of Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home.
