Americo Ferreira

Americo Ferreira, a long time resident of Stoneham, passed away January 5, 2019, at the age of 93.  Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Palmira (Belo) Muchata

Americo served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was employed for many years at Harvard University. He and his wife enjoyed travelling and visited throughout the United States and nearly all the continents, by air, ship, train and by car.

Mr. Ferreira is survived by his beloved wife Adelaide (Medeiros) Ferreira with whom he had shared over 70 years of marriage and his devoted daughter Mary Anne Ferreira of Stoneham. He was the brother of the late Mario Belo.

Funeral services will be from the Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, on Thursday, January 10 ^th at 9 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 A.M.  Interment with Military Honors will be at Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.  Visiting hours will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, 7-9 P.M.
