Andrew D Hosier

Andrew Deane Hosier, 73, of Lexington, son of the late Katherine (Downing) and William A. Hosier of Stoneham, passed away on November 24, 2023 after a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his cousin George Hoffman of Stoneham, and cousins Courtney (Jones) Aman and Julianne (Jones) Woodcock of North Carolina.

Andy is survived by his longtime love, Leslie Ericson of Lexington, his brother Stephen Hosier of Gloucester, sisters Ellen Hosier of Reading and Suzanne Hosier of Providence RI, and cousins in Spain, New Mexico and North Carolina.

Andy was a study in paradox. He was attuned to both the beauty and sorrow of the world. His humor was often dark but he trod lightly on this earth. He loved books, poetry, esoteric movies, photography, bridge and woodturning, all of which informed a world view that was both cynical and spiritual. Those who loved him will miss his patience, his gentleness and his generous heart.

Cremation will take place at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, a place that Andy appreciated for its birds, trees and peaceful paths. Burial in Lincoln will be private. A celebration of Andy’s life will take place in the new year.
