Armando Tamburrini, age 81, a lifelong resident of Stoneham, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. Born and raised in Stoneham, MA; he was the son of the late Cresenzo and Angelina (Tamasso) Tamburrini.
Armando was educated in the Stoneham Public Schools. Throughout his working life, he worked in construction, for many years with the D'Annolfo Construction Company. He helped to build many of the homes and large commercial buildings throughout Stoneham.
Armando was a member of the Redmen and the Marconi Club. He was known to play a proud game of pool and, in his youth, his world was hockey. His family agreed “He never had a bad word to say about anybody; he always had a smile for you and a great sense of humor ; he was a kind and gentle man and the best father ever.” His favorite meal was a steaming plate of gnocchi.
He was the father of Donna Geno and her husband David of Rochester, NH and Gina Glass and her husband Greg of Dover, NH. He was the brother of Phyllis Smith of Stoneham and the late Mary Sarcia and Guerino Tamburrini . He is survived by five grandchildren, Sierra, Cassidy, Jared, Nancy and Christopher Glass and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral from the Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, with visitation Wednesday, October 17th starting at 8:30 A.M., followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick Church at 10 A.M. followed by internment at Lindenwood Cemetery.
