Barbara J. Ford, 60, of Stoneham known to many as Barbie, Barb, Barbara Jean passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. Born in Stoneham she was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Regina Ford, sister, Donna O’Malley and nephew, Scott Adey.
Barbara was a very outgoing, funny, warm, and giving person. She was always the first to raise her hand to help family and friends and would appear just when she was needed. Barbara will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched.
Barbara enjoyed her time with family and friends and was an avid sports fan. You could count on her active engagement, cheering on the Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox or Celtics.
Barbara graduated from Medford High School and Bunker Hill College. Barbara was a licensed Drug & Alcohol Counselor. She worked for the past 18 years for Boston Water & Sewer Commission most recently as Enforcement Inspector. She was a member of Union Lodge 100 having proudly served as Secretary/Treasurer and President. Barbara was recently honored with “Recognition Service Award” from Henry Vitale, Executive Director of Boston Water & Sewer Commission.
Barbara is survived by one sister: Carol Adey and her husband Bob of Moultonborough New Hampshire along with her three brothers, Bill Ford and his wife Maureen of Kensington New Hampshire; Michael Ford and Karen Masino of Ipswich, Paul Ford of Nashua New Hampshire, brother-in-law Don O’Malley of Palm Bay FL; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Gathering in her honor will be held on Sunday November 27, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home. All are welcome. The family will have a private burial.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Barbara Ford may be made to support the “ Be a Piece of the Solution Fund ” at Massachusetts General Hospital in support of lung cancer research.
