Benjamin Anthony Caggiano

d. May 27, 2023

Benjamin A. Caggiano, age 91, of Stoneham passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Winchester Nursing Center on May 27, 2023.  He was the husband of Mary Jo (Theriault) Caggiano.  They met at Plum Island and went on to share over 55 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of Anthony and Mary (Luciano) Caggiano.  Benjamin, a graduate from Northeastern University  in Business Administration and member of Northeastern's Army ROTC, completed his duty in Signal Corps and worked at Sylvania Electric and Raytheon.  He was employed at Raytheon for 29 years as a financial analyst and business   manager of national and international projects.

He enjoyed serving the Town of Stoneham through his involvement in Kiwanis and the Town Finance and Advisory Board.  Following his retirement from Raytheon, he worked parttime at the IRS and remained an active volunteer in Stoneham.

Ben loved being active in sports whether it was bowling, playing softball or routing for the Patriots and Red Sox.  During retirement he spent time helping to care for his grandchildren and gardening.  He could often be found in the audience at dance recitals and competitions, as well as, in the stands cheering on his grandchildren.  In his last years, he cherished time with his family.

In addition to his wife Mary Jo, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Hatton of North Reading and Helen Fawcett of Nahant and four grandchildren, Benjamin Fawcett of Durham, NC, Emma Fawcett of Portland, OR and Sarah and Erin Hatton of North Reading.
