Carolyn Poinelli, age 73, a resident of Boston for over forty years, passed away on March 10, 2022. Carolyn was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street, suffering multiple fractures. She waged a heroic fight for three weeks, but was unable to survive her extensive injuries. She passed with loved ones at her side.
Born in Bridgeport, CT and raised on the family compound in Fairfield, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Leslie and Elisa (Baldassi) Poinelli. She graduated from Andrew Warde High School and attended Central Connecticut State College. Carolyn was a lifelong yoga practitioner and was active in the wellness community, including work with the Hippocrates Health Institute/Ann Wigmore Foundation in the 1980’s. She was a passionate peace activist and committed to many social justice issues. For many years Carolyn volunteered for Boston Food Not Bombs and, in recent years, was active in the Community Church of Boston.
Carolyn cherished her family and is survived by her brothers, a sister and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who loved her dearly. She will be missed.
