Charlotte M. Platt

Charlotte M. Platt age 98 of Stoneham, formerly a long-time resident of Saugus passed away in her sleep on December 28, 2023. Charlotte was born on June 28, 1925, in Saugus. She was the daughter of the late Richard G. Clayton and Edna W. (McAdoo) Clayton, and the sister of the late Richard, Henry, and Warren Clayton. Charlotte was raised in Saugus and graduated from Saugus high school in 1942. After the death of her husband George E. Platt in 1969 she worked at Polaroid for 20 years as an executive secretary. Charlotte was an active member of the Saugus Senior Center where she enjoyed Line dancing, singing, and socializing with other members. She also enjoyed traveling and wintered in Sarasota Florida with her longtime companion Frank Rego. She lived in Saugus until 2022 where she relocated to The Arbors in Stoneham.  Charlotte is survived by one son Steven G Platt and his long-time companion Barbra Maynard of Granby CT and one daughter Sandra L Moores and her husband John Moores of Stoneham: 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
