Edward J. Moscaritolo of Stoneham, Mass. passed away peacefully in his home on December 25 th , 2019, surrounded by his family. Ed was a man of many talents and interests. His formal training was in the engineering sciences. He obtained a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University, with a major in Mechanical Engineering. He started his company, Applied Electronics, and went on to work in the engineering field as a consultant in several firms, including IBM, American Optical, White Consolidated Industries, Jerguson Gage & Valve. He also explored other branches of engineering, including audio engineering, and designed and built high quality portable amplification systems for classical musicians. His creative approach to everyday life was shaped by his engineering background, as he had endless ideas for projects and he could fix or build just about anything.
Though Ed’s abilities led him into engineering by trade, it was his deep love and appreciation of the arts that predominated his life, through the medium of music. Ed started playing the trumpet at a young age, and his love of music propelled him through his entire life. In the last 15 years of his life he played the trumpet in many different music ensembles in the greater Boston area, including: The Parkway Concert Orchestra, Middlesex Concert Band, and Wakefield Summer band. He also loved singing with the Lexington Pops Chorus for many years.
Ed is survived by his wife Betsy, daughter Rianna, and his cat and companion RJ.
