Eugene W. Mitchell, of Boston, passed away on October 9, 2021, after a short illness. He was 91 years of age.

Eugene was born in Everett, MA on May 16, 1930, the oldest child of Reginald and Glendola (Robinson) Mitchell. He was raised and educated in Stoneham, MA after the family moved there in 1942, when he was 12 years old. Following high school, Eugene served in the Korean War before going on to get a degree in Business Administration and Management at Northeastern University.

Eugene was Vice President of Real Estate for Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Co until his retirement. He spent many years at his ski chalet in Vermont, where he enjoyed skiing and good times with family and friends. He also had a passion for traveling, sailing on the maiden voyage of the Queen Elizabeth II, flying on the Concorde and riding the Orient Express.

Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Glendola (Robinson) and Reginald Mitchell, and brothers R. Whitney and Philip Mitchell. He is survived by his brother, Ralph and his wife, Carol (Osborne) Mitchell of Tuftonboro, NH, his sister Bette (Mitchell) Biggio of Stoneham, MA, sister Lorraine (Mitchell) and her husband Albert Savage of Stoneham, MA and sister in-law Elizabeth (Williams) Mitchell of Sebring, FL. Eugene was also the beloved uncle of 17 nieces and nephews and great uncle to many others.

Eugene was truly a gift to his family. A wonderful son, loving brother, devoted uncle and trusted friend. He will be truly missed.

Visiting hours will be held 7:00 – 9:00 PM, Friday, October 15, 2021 at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St, Stoneham, MA. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at First Congregational Church, 1 Church St, Stoneham, MA. Masks are required for visiting hours and funeral service. Internment at Lindenwood Cemetery, Montvale Ave, Stoneham, MA.
