Geraldine Theresa (Quirk) MacLean, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021. She was the fourth child of six children born in Boston, MA to Dennis F. Quirk of Galway, Ireland and Marjorie T. (Canny) Quirk of Donegal. Gerry graduated from St. Mary’s Elementary in Charlestown, Cathedral High School and got her degree from UMass Boston.

She loved Charlestown and was a star basketball player on a team that won several Boston championships. Gerry was Boston Irish through and through. She lived and worked in Boston and Quincy all her life. She loved unrelentingly her family especially her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is survived by her former husband Robert MacLean of Nova Scotia, Canada and her five children, Robert MacLean of Falls Church, VA, Marjorie MacLean of Haverhill, MA, John MacLean of Burlington, VT, Katherine MacLean-Gonzalez (husband Miguel), of Boca Raton, FL and James MacLean of Los Angeles, CA. She was the sister of James Quirk of Bluffton, SC and the late John Quirk, Mary Ard, Eileen Steele and Marjorie Murphy and grandmother of Amanda MacLean, Max and Thais Gonzalez. Geraldine will be missed by her loving family.

A private interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden
