Grete Becker Rasmussen

Grete Becker Rasmussen passed peacefully in her home at the age of 84, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. She is survived by her loving daughter, Cristina Becker Prior, son-in-law Derek, grandchildren Owen and Elliot and family in Denmark.  She was born in Korsor, Denmark and immigrated to the United States in her thirties.

Grete was a strong, kind, generous woman who lived an incredible life filled with people and places around the world. She loved animals and was an avid supporter of animal rights.  She enjoyed classical music, especially her favorite, Andrea Bocelli.  She loved books and would happily have tea and desserts all day.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughter and family.  She will be dearly missed.

We are beyond grateful to those who helped care for her at home.  To the loving caregivers from Comfort Keepers, to Paul, support from Mystic Valley Elder Services and Allcare Nursing, we extend our gratitude.  The people who cared for her treated her as if she were family.

We will be having a celebration of life in honor of Grete, Saturday, February 11th beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall of the Unitarian Universalist Church, 239 Woburn St., Reading. There will be a brief memorial service at 10:30. Please join us in our celebration anytime between 10-12.
