Byfield - Harold Herbert Rogers, age 80, long-time resident of Byfield, Mass died Wednesday morning, June 27, 2018 at Brigham Manor, Newburyport, Mass. He leaves behind his wife, Selene Rogers, and his much-loved yellow lab, Marley.
Born in Georgetown on May 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Harold and Josie Rogers.
Harold enjoyed going on trips with his grandchildren to the White Mountains, as he fondly called "Going Up Country". His legacy includes whipped cream fights, and attracting bears by painting honey on dumpsters. Harold loved working with his hands and tinkering with anything that needed repair. He was a long-time employee of Kelly's True Value in Newburyport, where he was fondly known as "Harry."
He leaves behind two daughters, Brenda L. DeCoff and husband Joel of Danvers, Mass; and Kimberly L. Beaulieu and husband Bruce, of Winter Haven, FL; five grandchildren, Joel A. DeCoff, Jr. and his wife Jennifer; Rebecca L. DeCoff and partner, Lindsey Wilson; Courtney L. Beaulieu; Jonathan Beaulieu and his wife, Megan; and Jeff Kerr and his wife Jessie Mae; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Orin W. Rogers and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne Rogers, his sister Marie Kelley and brother, Larry B. Rogers.
