Ida S. Sylva

May 24, 1927 — July 6, 2021

On July 6th, 2021, at home with her family by her side, Ida Susan Sylva passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years old.  Born to Albert and Sylvia D’Angeli, Ida was the youngest of 12 children. In 1953, Ida married the love of her life the late Anthony "Tony" Sylva. In 1961 they moved to Medford where they raised their 3 children.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great happiness to Ida. She enjoyed spending time with her family and dancing and singing to her favorite songs.  In her later years, evenings were spent with her husband Tony eating dessert and watching classic old movies. She had a strong work ethic that she passed onto her children and grandchildren. She had strong beliefs and stood by her convictions. Ida took joy and happiness in the accomplishments of her children and was always there to support them. Her grandchildren will remember her for her unconditional love. She will be greatly missed.

Ida was predeceased by her husband Anthony M. Sylva Jr.  She will be forever cherished by her daughter Donna Sylva and her husband Richard DiSessa, son David Sylva and his wife Susan, her daughter Doreen MacLeod and her husband Sterling, and her loving grandchildren Danielle DiSessa, Rachel (DiSessa) Tracy and her husband Tom, Victor Sylva, Austin Sylva, and Sterling MacLeod II.  She was proud to become a great-grandmother this year to Isla Rae Tracy. Ida is also survived by many nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed spending time.
