Joel Christopher Moore, age 49 of Acton MA passed away from neuroendocrine cancer on Monday, December 2nd, at Emerson Hospital in Concord. During his stay at Emerson, he was comforted by round-the-clock companionship of family and friends.
Joel grew up in Stoneham MA, attended high school at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers (‘88), and earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell (‘97). He worked as a software engineer at Innovent in Peabody (‘91-’97), DCI Engineering in West Boylston (‘97-’02), Prodev, Inc. in Salisbury (‘02-’15), AJA International in Scituate (’12-’15) and VJ Electronix in Chelmsford (‘15-date).
Those who knew Joel lost a gentle giant with a quick, dry humor and a willingness to help anybody any way that he could. His closest friends heard him play his Gibson base or his 1995 G&L ASAT Classic Fender. He frequented live music venues and golf courses throughout New England, and spent time with friends and family between overseas trips for business.
Joel leaves his mother, Doreen L. Moore; his brother Michael; his sister Judi Stuer-Moore and husband Richard, parents of his nephew, Jonathan, and niece, Kaatje; his brother Jonathan and wife Robin; and his brother-in-law David Cooke, parent of his nephews James and Stephen.
