John Daniels, age 47, passed away at his home in Malden. He was born in Beverly Hills, California and spent his elementary school years in Houston, Texas. When he moved to Massachusetts he met his large extended Irish family. Being a Texan, he had to drop saying ‘Ya All’ and not call his Mom “Mam”.
He excelled in math and writing. His college application essay was published in the Boston Herald and he was awarded a full scholarship to BU.
A drunk driver had a devastating effect on his life. His beloved sister was dragged 1,000 feet, put in a coma and required constant care. John’s life was devoted to helping his mother and sister.
He enjoyed camping, hiking, mountain climbing and rollerblading. He lived in a brick building in Malden for 15 years. His neighbors had lovely things to say about him. One even suggested having a plaque with his name put on an Adirondack chair in the backyard.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Cate Daniels, his beloved niece, Alexandra Daniels and many aunts, uncles and cousins who are saddened by his passing. His warm heart and gentle manner will be dearly missed.
