Karen Elaine Unis

Karen Elaine Unis, age 66 of Saugus, died May 6, 2018, following a lengthy illness.  She was the wife of the late David Unis.  Born in Melrose, MA and raised in Wakefield; she was the daughter of the late Peter and Gloria (Luongo) Calderaro.

Karen was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1969.  She worked for Bell Atlantic Telephone Company as a designer for their Yellow Pages.

Karen most enjoyed spending time with her family, and she delighted in hosting holiday celebrations and birthday parties for her children.  She had a   wonderful sense of humor and a memorable laugh.  Her favorite TV show was “I love Lucy”.

Her family remembers her as a kind, generous caregiver, not only to her children, but to her cats.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Lynnette Unis of Saugus and stepchildren, Kristen Unis and Greg Unis of Saugus and Erin Unis of Annapolis, MD.  She was the sister of the late Pamela Perry.
