Katherine M. Gallagher

Katherine M. Gallagher, age 71, of Stoneham, formerly of East Boston, died unexpectedly June 12, 2019. Born in Stoneham, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Katherine (Rogers) Gallagher.
As a toddler, Katherine lived in Stoneham, then her family moved to East Boston where she graduated from Sacred Heart. For many years, she was employed as a secretary at the Metal Spinners Company of Malden. Upon her retirement, she returned to Stoneham and has resided there for the past ten years.
"Greeno", as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, loved the color green and it was reflected in her clothing, her home, her car and most everything she owned. The one exception was when she adorned her "red" hat for The Red Hat Society to which she was a longstanding, active member. Greeno adored her brothers and was very much included in their family activities. She was also the devoted "mother" to two loyal cats, Gwendolyn and Captain Jack.
Katherine leaves her three surviving brothers, Joseph Gallagher and John Gallagher of Stoneham and James Gallagher of Wakefield. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grandnephews and a dear friend, Maryellen Doherty of Revere.
Funeral from Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, Friday, June 21st at 9 A.M. followed by a funeral mass at 10 A.M. in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham . Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. Visiting hours are Thursday, 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a memorial gift to the American Heart Association.
