Lorraine Stuart

Lorraine (Morin) Stuart, age 88, a lifelong resident of Stoneham, died peacefully November 1, 2018, with her husband of 64 years by her side.  She was the beloved wife of William F. Stuart.   Born in Woburn, MA; she was the daughter of the late Carl and Louise (Dyer) Bagge.

Lorraine was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1948.  She has helped plan and enjoyed many class reunions since.

For over forty years, Lorraine worked fulltime and then part time, as a switchboard operator at Winchester Hospital, retiring in 2003.

Although Stoneham was “home”, Lorraine and her husband spent their summers in Center Barnstead, NH and winters in North Ft. Myers, FL for the past 25 years. While in Florida, Lorraine took up line dancing and really enjoyed the activity and the sociability.  She also enjoyed mystery novels and jigsaw puzzles.  Lorraine and Bill were able to travel extensively in the States and Europe by exchanging their timeshare with those who wanted to visit New England.

She considered Her Family, her most precious gift.  She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she looked forward to babysitting, hosting sleepovers and cheering at their sporting events. Lorraine was a good, caring and generous woman with a sense of humor.

She was the cherished mother of Sheryl Doherty and her husband William of Salem, NH, William Stuart and his wife Jana of Tewksbury and Mark Stuart of Stoneham.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Alycia, Jana, William and Kerri; six great grandchildren, Julia, Shyanne, Drew, Justin, Tristan and Benny and a sister Carol Morello of CT.

The funeral service will be held at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, Tuesday, November 6 ^th at 11 A.M. followed by burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.  Visitation is at the funeral home, Monday, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Toys for Tots.
