Louise Mary Ferreira

d. January 30, 2020

Louise Mary (Sweeney) Ferreira, age 74, a longtime resident of Woburn, MA passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, following a lengthy decline in health. Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late John W. Sweeney and Rita V. (Trainor) Sweeney. Louise was always very close to her sister, Cynthia McLaughlin and her late husband Robert of Woburn. Her brother John, Jr. had passed away early in his childhood. She was the former wife of the late William T. Ferreira of Lowell.

Louise was raised in the local communities surrounding Stoneham. She was a talented writer, creating her beloved “Goosepimple” poem, around the age of ten. She graduated Wakefield High School in 1962. Known for her shenanigans, as a child and as an adult, she loved a good, silly laugh. She was a kind hearted person that just loved to be friendly to people. Her joys in life included reading magazines, listening to music, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was the precious mother to the late William “Billy” Ferreira of Foxboro; Tammy L. Vallas and her husband George of Burlington; Cynthia M. DeMambro and her husband Eugene “Rocky” of Gorham, N.H.; and John J. Ferreira of Woburn and his former spouse Gail of Derry, N.H.

She was loved grandmother to Cassandra, Peter, and Alexander Vallas of Burlington; Clayton and Branden DeMambro of Gorham, N.H.; and Kelsey Ferreira of Medford and Trainor Ferreira of Derry, N.H.

She was the adored aunt of Colleen Sawtelle and her husband Chris of Lowell; Timothy McLaughlin of Danvers; Bridgett Ficher and her husband Roberto of Lowell; the late Ryan McLaughlin of Woburn; Ruthi DeMasse and Justine Hoppe of Franklin, N.H. She will be greatly missed by her large family of cousins, other relatives, and her friends.
