Mahesh C. Atapattu

Mahesh C. Atapattu, 69 of Reading MA passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at Eastpointe Rehabilitation in Chelsea.

Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, he was the son of the late Daniel Atapattu and survived by his mother, Francese Perera. He was preceded in death by his brother Pani Atapattu.

Mahesh loved spending time with friends and family. He also loved cooking and hosting social gatherings.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 39 years, Upeka Atapattu; son, Mahesh “Chatu” Atapattu and his wife Uththara; grandson, Jehan Atapattu; brothers, Asoka Atapattu and Samantha Pannaperuma and sister, Mahawali Vandenbussche.

Funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 9:30AM to 11:30AM at Anderson Bryant Funeral Home 4 Common Street, Stoneham. Cremation will be held privately.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to New England Buddhist Vihara in lieu of flowers.
