Marie H. Richard

Marie H. Richard, age 91, of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville and native of New Brunswick, Canada, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 9, 2018.  She was the loving wife of Joseph (Leo) Richard, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage. Born and raised in Cap-Pele, New Brunswick, Canada, Marie was the oldest of fourteen children to Armand and Marguerite (Arsenault) Ouellette.

Marie, along with her husband and young family, came to the States in 1957, and settled in Somerville, MA. It was in Somerville where they completed their family with a fifth child, and where the couple resided for forty years.  Marie and Leo have lived in Stoneham for the past twenty one years.

Marie was foremost a homemaker.  She adored her husband and children; always putting her family’s needs before her own.  She was kind, caring, loving and humble.  Because English was her second language, she was shy and known to be quiet around her neighbors and friends; she spoke French in her home. She remained very close to all her siblings and extended family in New Brunswick, Canada.

She was the cherished mother of Louise Richard and her husband Dick Richard of Orland, CA, Joseph J. Richard of Salisbury,  and Joan Richard, Mary Landry and her late husband Fred of Woburn , Jeanne Zaccagnini and her husband Jim of Reading, Sandra Lourenco and her late husband Carlos of Woburn. Grandmother of Kevin,Jimmy, Kore, Kevin, Wanda and Naomi.

Great grandmother of Meredith, Corrine, Dazie,Ariana, Brantley and Jalen.Great, great grandmother of Evalynn.

Funeral from Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, Friday at 9 A.M. followed by a funeral mass at 10 A.M. in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham.  Visitation: Thursday: 4-8 P.M.    In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial gift to the Kidney Foundation ( https://www.kidney.org/support )  or Brookhaven Hospice ( https://www.brookhavenhospice.com ) .
