Margaret Mary Sweet

Margaret Mary (Hanright) Sweet, "Middy", age 94, a lifelong resident of Stoneham, passed away May 27, 2023.  She was the cherished wife of the late Arthur D. Sweet and the devoted mother of Mary Ellen Schultz & her husband John of Woburn, Michael A. Sweet & his wife Ann of Chester, NH and Paul T. Sweet & his wife Karen, Thomas P. Sweet and Kathleen A. Welch & her husband James all of Stoneham. Also survived by grandchildren Katie Anne Fitzgerald and her husband James, Courtney Mercer and her husband Jacob, Matthew Sweet, Stephanie Sweet and her fiancé Jason DiCarlo, Daniel Sweet, Michael Welch and Katelyn Welch and her fiancé Robert Ward, and seven great grandchildren Callen Ward, Summer Welch, McKenzie Ward, Wyatt Mercer, LJ Welch, Jonathan Fitzgerald and Evan Mercer. Sister of the late Hubert H. Hanright, Martha Porter, Anne Leydon, John Hanright and Mary Ellen Beagen; sister-in-law Mary Jane Hanright.

Funeral from Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., STONEHAM, Monday June 5th at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham and interment  in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham. Visitation at the funeral home: Sunday June 4th from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Margaret to the Hubert “Brother” Hanright Stoneham High School Athletic Hall of Fame 149 Franklin Street Stoneham MA 02180.
