Maureen Mary Knight

Maureen Mary Knight, age 73, of Reading, passed away June 5, 2021, following a lengthy decline with dementia.  Born and raised in Somerville, MA; she was the daughter of the late Harold R. and Marguerite (Griffiths) Knight.

Maureen worked for many years in the Reading Town Clerk's Office.  Following her retirement, she was most often seen afternoons walking or reading books  by her favorite spot, Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield.

Maureen had a strong interest in her family genealogy and discovered her ancestors  held an important role in our American History .  She was a member of both the Mayflower Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Having never met a four-legged furry friend that she didn't like, her family takes solace in the thought that she is now reunited with her "doggy loves", Tkachuk, Chica and Jessica.

Survived by two sons, Nolan M. Carr and his wife Maureen of Wilmington and Jeffrey J. Knight of Los Angeles, CA and her grandson, Jake Carr.  She was the sister of Judith Surrette and her husband David of Centerbrook, CT and Roger H. Knight of Orlando, FL.

Visitation: Sunday, 4-7 P.M. at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, followed by a Memorial Gathering at the funeral home on Monday at 10A.M. and burial of cremains in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden at 11 A.M.  In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial gift to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the MSPCA (Angell Animal Medical Center).
