Michael was born on November 24, 1961 in Weymouth, MA. He met his future wife Daphne at SUNY Purchase where he graduated in 1985 with a degree in Theatre Arts/Acting. After moving to the Boston area and pursuing an acting career through his twenties, Michael began working at Abt Associates as a research assistant. Over the next twenty-five years, Michael earned a master’s degree in Public Health from UMass Medical School and worked his way up through the firm to the position of Principal Associate.
Michael was a devoted father and husband, dedicated scientist and avid fly fisherman. He was a generous, kind individual who loved music, cooking, and making his loved ones laugh. His passion for public health and social justice made him a force for good in the community, his workplace, and the vulnerable populations he worked with and advocated for. Michael’s courage and dedication to life, including his will to embrace all the pleasures and pain it held, taught his children and wife that it is possible to find joy when faced with seemingly impossible odds.
