Sven Olof Emilsson

Sven Olof Emilsson passed away most peacefully, Monday, August 22, 2022. A longtime resident of Newton, MA, at 88 years young, he outlived all expectations, true to his nature.

Sven Olof started married life in Jonkoping, Sweden with the lovely Margareta Lindqvist (deceased 1997) then left for America with their 3 young children, making their way to Newton, MA. He was instrumental in the success of Sunnex Inc., Natick, MA for many years, & his own company Scandex, which imported elegant Swedish seating to the US. Sven O was well loved by friends, employees and clients alike, for the generous and compassionate way he treated everyone.

He joins his beloved oldest son, Magnus Emilsson, in the great beyond, who hopefully has an extra motorcycle ready for him, and parents Anni & Jonatan, his sister Runa, & son-in-law Patrick Irrera.

Sisters Sonja & Solveig & families are still residing in Sweden, & will keep his flame bright across the sea.  He is survived by his second wife, Marilyn Creamer, his son Sven Johann, daughter Maria Emilsson Irrera, and step-sons John and Robert Creamer. Sven Olof took great delight and pride in being a grandfather to Michaela Emilsson & Lily Snyder, Lindsay Irrera, Stephanie & Kenneth Ronchinsky, and Marin & Caroline Creamer,  whom he counts on to carry on his legacy.

Sven Olof was an avid gardener, a friend to all robins and other winged creatures. He was a contributor to a variety of charities supporting the flora & fauna of the planet & if donations are to be made there, or Dana Farber, an org. Sven O benefited from in these final years, he would be pleased.

We welcome all who knew him to please come and celebrate his life with us at the Lutheran Church of the Newtons, 1310 Centre St, Newton at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 6th.  There are 3 public parking lots in the area. A reception will follow where people are invited to gather & "say good things....or bad, about me", at the family residence.
