Thelma N. Farrell, of Plaistow, NH, formerly of Stoneham, died October 8, 2022, at the age of 97. She was the wife of the late Edward Farrell Sr. Born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Wench) Geddis, formerly of Stoneham. Thelma leaves behind her son, Edward Farrell of Billerica and daughters, Cynthia Ballard of Wakefield and Lisa Spinucci of Plaistow, NH; a sister Linda Melville of Scituate; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Glen P. Farrell of Stoneham and sister of the late Ruby O'Brien of Stoneham, Lois Hanson of Newport Ritchy, FL and Helen Lalond of Connecticut.
Thelma was raised and educated in Arlington. She was introduced to her future husband Edward by her sister Lois at the Regent Theatre in Arlington. They married one and a half years later and moved to Stoneham where they raised their four children. Thelma and Edward were active in town activities and activities at St. Patrick Church and the American Legion. Thelma worked at Boston University Law School as Registrar, as well as, working in the Stoneham schools helping out with meal programs. She enjoyed working at the Stoneham Town Hall polls for various elections.
Thelma loved playing Bingo with her sisters, Ruby and Lois. She also enjoyed travelling with them and her many friends. She looked forward to playing cards on Friday mornings with friends at the Stoneham Senior Center.
Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend the graveside service to be held Thursday, October 13th, at 11:00 A.M. in Lindenwood Cemetery, Montvale Avenue, Stoneham.
