Thomas C. Troisi, age 79, of Tewksbury, formerly a longtime resident of Stoneham, died unexpectedly at home Sunday, September 2, 2018. He was the cherished husband of Jean H. (Lowe) Troisi.
Born in Cambridge, MA and raised in Somerville; he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Coleman) Troisi.
Tom graduated from St. Clement High School in 1957, and then enlisted in the Navy where he served four years as a diesel mechanic. For many years after, Tom worked for UTT Distributors as a driver and salesman. He was known as the “Wise Guy”, because he distributed Wise Potato Chips.
Tom was always known to be thrifty and innovative, even as a young boy he thought of ways he could fix things to earn a buck. Growing up on the West Side of Somerville near Tuft’s golf course; he scouted out lost golf balls; refurbished and re-sold them along with metal and rags he collected.
After marrying Jean, they moved to their home in Stoneham where they settled, raised their three daughters and resided there for forty-two years. One of the girls’ fondest memories is camping and hiking with their Dad in the White Mountains in NH.
Tom and Jean enjoyed touring in their RV throughout the US and Canada. They visited many of the National Parks. They also shared a wonderful trip to Ireland, home of Tom’s ancestral origin.
In 2011, after deciding their house in their beloved Stoneham was just too big for the two of them, they retired to a townhouse in Tewksbury.
He is survived by his “Three Queens”, Melina Troisi Bora and her husband William of Northboro, MA, Camille Cobb and her husband Warren of Hillsboro, NH and Nicole Troisi Wright and her husband Steven of Broseley, Missouri.
