Virginia L. Isola, age 95, died peacefully February 10, 2022, after a short illness. She was born to Louis J. and Mabel (Tosi) Isola on June 16, 1926, in Somerville, Massachusetts.
“Ginny,” as her family affectionately called her, spent her entire life in her family’s home in Stoneham, where she graduated high school. She was employed at the private brokerage firm of Hayden & Stone in Boston for a number of years, before taking early retirement to care for her father and later her mother. She traveled to all 48 contiguous states with her beloved parents and throughout western Europe with close friends. She had a love of opera and theater and attended many live performances with her devoted cousin, David, in New York City. In her early years, Ginny served as an organist at St. Patrick’s Church in Stoneham. She was an accomplished gardener, an enthusiastic reader and was deeply interested in local affairs. Ginny’s greatest gift was her particular devotion to her family and to her many friends in the Stoneham community. She was a fiercely independent woman with a remarkable talent for conversation and wit, who knew her own mind and who worked tirelessly helping others. To her parents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, she was always a positive joy to be around. Those members of her extended family who survive her feel an ineffable sense of loss at her passing.
