G. Virginia Mariano 91 Years old. Born Febuary 6, 1929 - Died April 7, 2020
Virginia, of Stoneham passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Advocate Healthcare facility in East Boston while holding onto her favorite stuffed animals "Pinky the Rabbit" and "Kitty".
Virginia was born in Boston to her parents, the late Daniel Fair and Lillian Fair (Potts), was married to the late Charles Durfee Sr. (divorced) and the late Ernest Mariano. She is survived by her children Charles Durfee Jr. and wife Katherine of Stoneham, Daniel Durfee of Woburn, Thomas Durfee Sr of North Carolina, Joseph Durfee and wife Beth of Winthrop and Victoria Glover of Stoneham. She is survived by her grandchildren Charles and Christopher, Andrea, Jessica and Justin, Thomas and Paula, Stephanie and Tyler. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
Virginia was an employee of the M.G.H. and was an avid crocheter and sewer who would make baby blankets for the grandkids. She was a great baker of sweet treats around the holidays. She was an animal rights supporter. She enjoyed reading books and listening to her "The Moody Blues" cd's. Her passing happened on a "Tuesday Afternoon" which ironically was her favorite Moody Blues song.
Due to the ongoing crisis in the world right now, there will be no wake. Family and friends will have a graveside ceremony. Interment will be on Monday April 13 at Holy Cross Cemetery 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to help cure Alzheimer's disease.
